Get Dropbox Review for Macs and Windows

I use Dropbox all the time. What is it? It's an application that is installed on your computers. It creates a folder called "DropBox" inside your home directory on either your Mac or Windows machine. Then, any items dropped inside that folder are automatically synced to whatever computer you have DropBox installed on. That's it.

Who is this useful for? Anybody who has multiple computers that wants their files to be synchronized between them. Word docs, software updaters, driver updaters, all of these can be stored between your multiple machines that have DropBox installed on them.  I would NOT use DropBox to store confidential data like Excel spreadsheets with website passwords in it as the data is actually stored on their servers.  I'm paranoid like that.

I manage a bunch of Windows/Linux/Mac servers. During the course of the day various patches will be released for whatever I'm running on them. I have my MacBook Pro with me, so I just download the patches on my MacBook Pro, place the installers in the appropriate folder for the OS (look below at the pic) and let DropBox put the installers on each server for me. When I have time, I log into each server and run the installers and I'm done. It's taken a large amount of the update process out of my workflow and saved me a lot of time overall. I like and use DropBox so often I actually purchase the 50GB account.
